Hello, I'm Marianne and this is my website 'Avid Art'.
My artwork is mainly abstract pieces and all are painted using acrylics on canvas, a palette knife is used to create texture and depth. I use the knives to layer paint on the canvas, wait for it to dry, layer and scrape the paint until something evolves and a painting takes shape.
I look around and hope a colour combination catches my eye somewhere and I try to incorporate it into a painting. At the moment I'm working with various whites and silver, however most of my pieces are highlighted with gold and silver leaf which creates an amazing effect when hung in the correct light.
My creative influence comes from Salvador Dali and Joni Mitchell providing madness and beauty in a world of beauty and madness...
